Who Should Use This Film
That’s a Family! was created for use by elementary school teachers. The video is divided into segments that can be shown to students at once or in parts, and is most effectively used in conjunction with its comprehensive curriculum guide. Daytime and after-school teachers at hundreds of schools around the country are already using That’s a Family! with support and enthusiasm from principals, PTAs and parents.
Recommended for students in grades k-8.
That’s a Family! has also proven extremely useful in counseling and social service agencies, for parents to watch with their own children, in religious congregations, among safe-school advocates, and in a variety of daycare, Head Start and after-school settings. It may also be used by students in middle or high school, as well as at the university or college level, if they are given the context that the video was crafted with younger audiences in mind.
Finally, That’s a Family! is an excellent tool for in-service professional development on diversity issues for professionals of all kinds.
