National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week: October 4-10

Did you know that the fourth annual National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week starts next week (October 4-10)? Organized by The PACER Center, this week long event encourages communities to work together to increase the awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all students by hosting a variety of events.

  • Brittney, thanks for alerting your audience to this huge issue – bullying. While the National Awareness Week has been over for several week, bullying is still with us. When we first started working with kids who had either been bullied, were the bullies or even bystanders, we learned a lot about the huge percentage of times we, as adults, don’t come to their rescue – something over 80% of the time.

    Many times we find that bullies have been bullied themselves – and many times that has even been in their home by a family member.
